Shock for public procurement – government commits to “publishing ALL contracts…”

by Peter Smith on June 17, 2010

I’ve looked through the Cabinet Office Structural Reform Plan which is recommended reading, incredibly detailed and ambitious, but does beg the question ‘how on earth is the coalition going to achieve all this in the timescales quoted?’.

But there is so much interesting detail to talk about I will save it for a longer post on Friday.  One immediate point – the pledge to publish all contracts over £25,000 has become “All new central government contracts to be published”.  My goodness…..

We are picking up daughter from university today hence the light blogging.  She is still (age 20) clear that she does not want to work in the food industry, banking, the civil service, consultancy or procurement i.e. anywhere Dad has worked.  Oh well….
